Government and NGO Projects:
Supporting multidisciplinary teams

We recently worked with a client embarking on multiple large-scale projects for government agencies and NGOs. They needed infrastructure that could scale as their projects grew, ensuring data sovereignty and compliance with regional regulations.

Our Solution

We proposed a flexible, modest-sized cluster that could support their capacity needs over the next few years, while allowing them to forecast and plan for future scaling without disproportionate cost increases. We also implemented a step-up cost structure, aligning the infrastructure costs with their incoming funding. This provided them with the flexibility to ramp up spending gradually, allowing us to scale the infrastructure alongside their needs.

The Results

  • Ease of development and deployment: We established an easy-to-use continuous deployment system, allowing their front-end, back-end, and hardware development teams to work seamlessly together. This ensured the front-end and back-end were automatically deployed to a staging environment, and firmware binaries would be automatically built for the hardware team.
  • Reliable, flexible infrastructure: The cluster supported the deployment of internal business software, which helped the client avoid third-party software costs.
  • Confidence in scaling: The client now knows they can expand into new projects—whether within the EU or even setting up clusters in foreign countries—thanks to our expertise and flexibility.

Unique Challenges

This project required planning the deployment of hardware into a developing nation, which required taking into account various complex local factors. The ethical component of the project, working with NGOs and governmental bodies, made it particularly rewarding for us as well.
